PROGRAMS & PROJECTS.

SMA celebrates several festivals and occasions throughout the year. Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, is one of the major events hosted by the association. The event usually happens in August or September and is a time when the Malayalee community comes together to celebrate their rich culture and traditions. SMA organizes a grand Onam feast, also known as Onam Sadya, where a variety of traditional Malayalee dishes are served on a banana leaf.

Apart from Onam, SMA also celebrates other festivals like Vishu, Easter, Christmas, and New Year's Day. These celebrations are not only an opportunity to showcase the cultural heritage of the Malayalee community but also a way to bring people from different backgrounds and cultures together.

SMA also takes an active part in supporting various charitable initiatives both in Saskatoon and in Kerala. The association has organized several fundraising events to support relief efforts for natural disasters like floods and landslides in Kerala. The funds raised through these events have been used to provide aid and support to the affected communities.

In conclusion, Saskatoon Malayalee Association is an organization that is dedicated to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Malayalee community. Through its various cultural and social events, SMA has been successful in bringing the Malayalee community together and promoting cross-cultural understanding and harmony. The association's efforts in supporting charitable initiatives are also commendable and serve as an excellent example of how community organizations can make a positive impact on society.
